Use this checklist to be sure you get the best results.
I have been "Longarming" since 1999, quilting since 1985 and sewing since 1963. I work from my studio in Exeter, Rhode Island, using a 2006 APQS Millennium longarm machine with stitch regulator.
Edge to Edge (Pantograph) Quilting
An all over design stitched out by computer drive. Available in various densities of stitching to enhance the style of your quilt top.
Price: $.018 per square inch; Minimum: $60.
Artistic Freehand
All-over freehand design of a particular theme, i.e. feathers, Spikes, Dancing feet which would cover the entire surface of the quilt. Over twenty sample designs are available with custom designs also offered.
$.0225—.03 per square inch. Minimum: $80.00
Artistic Freehand—Bordered
Border seams are stitched-in-the-ditch then an all-over freehand design of a particular theme, i.e. feathers, spikes, circles, etc. would be stitched into the center of the quilt. Customized designs are also offered. Borders would be treated separately with simple template, ruler or freehand designs.
$.04—.05 per square inch. Minimum: $100.00
Custom
Each distinct area of the quilt is stabilized with stitch-in-the-ditch and quilted with a unique design. Designs might include echo, meandering, feathers, medallions, continuous curve. Additional charge for extra (more than 2) borders. Also includes Baptist Fan design.
$.06—.08 per square inch. Minimum: $125.00
Heirloom
All the qualities of custom quilting, but with a higher density of stitching. Includes appliqué, sampler, double wedding ring, and small scale quilts. Also includes very dense background filler such as microstippling, heirloom feathers, and McTavishing.
$.09—.10 per square inch. Minimum: $175.00
Trapunto
Additional batting added to design areas to add emphasis. Base fee available upon inquiry.
