All lectures are designed to appeal to a wide variety of quilters. Through a projected PowerPoint format, details of the lectures are clearly illustrated and explained. My "100 pounds" of quilts trunk show further illustrates the lecture topic and frequently provides inspiration to the viewers. The Q & A portion gives the audience a chance to clarify any questions they might have about a concept from the lecture or a trunk show quilt-related technique.
Bob Harrison and Bob's Featherweights display is also available to vend at regional lecture and workshop bookings.

Thoroughly Modern Quilting
How to quilt a modern quilt has flummoxed many a quilter. Staying true to the minimalist design aesthetic while adding the third dimension of texture is no small feat. Through a PowerPoint presentation and a trunk show of modern quilts, experience just what that third dimension of quilting adds. Watch the effects achieved using design, color, positive versus negative dimension, and textural interest. Requirements: Projection screen, microphone, tables, darkened room, 6-8 tall guild member quilt holders. |
Quilt as Desired
A 45-minute PowerPoint lecture that explains the quilt design process that I use as I decide what quilting best enhances each of my award- winning quilts and how I go about transferring the design to the quilt top. Thread type and color, batting choices, and additional considerations are also addressed. A "100 Pounds of Award-Winning Quilts" trunk show follows as does a period of questions and answers.
Handout included. Requirements: Projection screen, microphone, tables, darkened room, 6-8 tall guild member quilt holders. You be the Judge
A 45-minute PowerPoint lecture that presents the steps a quilt judge follows as they evaluate a quilt. Also discussed are the reasons why you should consider having your quilt judged, the types of judging formats used, and the rationale behind your guild hosting a judged show. A optional mock judging of one or two guild member's quilts is also included to give viewers a more complete idea of the judging process. A "100 Pounds of Award-Winning Quilts" trunk show follows as does a period of questions and answers.
